Terms of Service

PrivyMask is a document pseudonymisation tool operated by MISA LUNA LIMITED (company number 16335349), registered in England and Wales at Flat 32 Hanover Avenue, London, England, E16 1DX, trading as PrivyMask.

PrivyMask allows you to detect and pseudonymise personally identifiable information (PII) in documents before sharing them with third-party AI tools, and to restore the original values from a mapping key held on your device.

By creating an account or using PrivyMask, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

You must provide a valid email address to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity under it.

You must be at least 18 years old and have the authority to enter into this agreement on behalf of yourself or your organisation.

Free tier. New accounts receive 1 free document. No payment method is required.

Practitioner plan. £15.00 per month (or £144.00 per year), billed in advance. Includes unlimited documents.

Credits. One-time credit packs of 5 documents for £10.00 are available as an alternative to a subscription.

All prices are inclusive of VAT where applicable. Payments are processed by Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled. You may cancel at any time from your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods except where required by law.

You may use PrivyMask only for lawful purposes. You must not:

• Use the service to process data you do not have the right to process
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the service
• Use the service to facilitate unlawful re-identification of individuals
• Resell or sublicense access to the service without our written consent

Documents you upload are processed in server memory and never stored. We do not have access to the content of your documents after processing.

The mapping key is generated in your browser and downloaded directly to your device. We never receive, store, or have access to the mapping key. You are solely responsible for its security and retention. If you lose the mapping key, we cannot restore your pseudonymised documents.

PrivyMask performs pseudonymisation as defined in UK GDPR Article 4(5). It does not guarantee anonymisation. The combination of remaining data in a document may still allow re-identification by a motivated party. You are responsible for assessing residual re-identification risk before sharing pseudonymised output.

PrivyMask and its underlying software are owned by MISA LUNA LIMITED. We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the service for your own internal business purposes.

You retain all rights to the documents and text you process through the service.

The service is provided “as is”. We do not warrant that PII detection will be complete or error-free. Detection accuracy depends on document quality, language, and the nature of the information. You should always review detected entities before pseudonymising.

We are not a law firm and nothing in this service constitutes legal advice.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MISA LUNA LIMITED shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of PrivyMask, including but not limited to loss of data, missed detection of PII, or regulatory fines.

Our total liability to you in any 12-month period shall not exceed the fees you paid to us in that period.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will give you at least 14 days' notice of material changes by email. Continued use after the notice period constitutes acceptance.

We may modify or discontinue features of the service with reasonable notice.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
